🇵🇹 Ao ler este livro senti um impacto imediato. Fui pesquisar, mas não encontrei nada que justificasse aquilo que senti ao ler este álbum de Astérix; aparentemente, porém, não é um sentimento exclusivo meu.

A verdade é que este álbum está fantástico, claramente acima dos anteriores. Desde a escrita à história, passando pelas ilustrações, em tudo se sente uma produção mais apurada. A narrativa é refrescante e única, e nota-se uma evolução significativa no desenho, especialmente na variedade de ângulos e nas composições apresentadas.

Até fui verificar se teria existido um grande hiato entre este e o álbum anterior, mas não — ambos foram lançados no mesmo ano.

Não sei. Talvez seja simplesmente o culminar de muita experiência acumulada, mas os autores estavam claramente — e de forma especial — inspirados durante a produção deste álbum. Arrisco-me mesmo a dizer que é o melhor Astérix até ao momento. Fico curioso para ver o que vem a seguir.

🇬🇧 When I read this book, I felt an immediate impact. I tried to look into it but couldn’t find anything that would explain what I felt while reading this Asterix album; apparently, however, it’s not a feeling unique to me.

The truth is that this album is fantastic, clearly above the previous ones. From the writing to the story and the illustrations, everything feels more refined. The narrative is refreshing and unique, and there’s a noticeable evolution in the artwork, especially in the variety of angles and compositions presented.

I even checked to see whether there had been a large hiatus between this and the previous album, but there wasn’t — both were released in the same year.

I’m not sure. Perhaps it’s simply the culmination of a lot of accumulated experience, but the authors were clearly — and especially — inspired during the production of this album. I’d even venture to say it’s the best Asterix so far. I’m curious to see what comes next.
