📚 Book Review: Family Tree
📖 Author(s): Jeff Lemire, Phil Hester, Eric Gapstur, Ryan Cody
💭 My Thoughts:

🇬🇧 This is one of those works that had been waiting for its turn on my reading pile for a long time. Being a Jeff Lemire book only makes that delay even more unjustifiable, but it is what it is—there is not enough time for everything.
I approached this read with some caution, especially because the overall ratings are not particularly enthusiastic. Still, after reading it, I honestly struggle to understand that lukewarm reception.
The story follows a perfectly ordinary American family that seems to be afflicted by a kind of curse, in which some of its members gradually begin to transform into trees. Naturally, as the reading progresses, it becomes clear that this premise is only the surface of something far deeper.
As is usually the case with Jeff Lemire, the narrative is simple, restrained, and very well written, and this work is no exception. While it is not one of his creations that impressed me the most, I can nevertheless say that I enjoyed the experience quite a lot.
