💭 My Thoughts:

🇵🇹 Esta história começa de forma imediatamente muito forte a nível emocional, mas, surpreendentemente, esse não é o tom que se mantém ao longo do resto da narrativa.

Aqui acompanhamos Noel, um menino com necessidades especiais que, após um evento trágico, é empurrado para uma nova realidade, onde terá de aprender rapidamente a interagir com outras pessoas e a compreender os seus comportamentos naturais.

No fundo, depois do impacto inicial mais marcante, a história acaba por assumir um tom mais próximo de um drama slice of life, no qual vemos o pequeno Noel a lidar com a sua nova realidade enquanto tenta, em paralelo, processar a sua perda recente.

Uma leitura sólida, ainda que eu esperasse que tivesse tocado de forma mais profunda ao nível emocional.

🇬🇧 This story begins with a very strong emotional impact, but surprisingly that is not the tone maintained throughout the rest of the narrative.

Here we follow Noel, a boy with special needs who, after a tragic event, is thrust into a new reality where he must quickly learn how to interact with other people and understand their natural behaviours.

Ultimately, after the initial and more striking event, the story settles into a more slice-of-life–style drama, in which we see young Noel dealing with his new reality while continuing to process his recent loss.

A solid read, although I had hoped it would resonate more deeply on an emotional level.
