🇵🇹 Último volume desta fantástica série — um livro que devorei por completo em apenas algumas horas.

Era uma das séries que mais ansiava por ler e não desiludiu, pelo contrário: superou largamente as minhas expectativas. Baseada num romance literário que já deu origem a pelo menos duas adaptações cinematográficas japonesas, trata-se, sem dúvida, de uma obra de culto.

Masayuki Taguchi é um mestre a transmitir ao leitor a tensão das cenas mais intensas. Ainda assim, confesso que, mesmo sendo fã desse estilo, houve momentos em que achei o ritmo excessivo — certas cenas arrastam-se por várias páginas até chegarem a uma conclusão. Apesar disso, este detalhe não compromete em nada o impacto da obra no seu conjunto. É apenas um aspecto que talvez pudesse ter sido mais equilibrado, embora compreenda que, sendo uma série publicada originalmente de forma semanal, fosse difícil manter uma visão global até ao seu desfecho.

Leitura obrigatória para qualquer apreciador de Seinen.

🇬🇧 Final volume of this fantastic series — a book I completely devoured in just a few hours.

This was one of the series I most looked forward to reading, and it did not disappoint — on the contrary, it far exceeded my expectations. Based on a literary novel that has already inspired at least two Japanese film adaptations, this is undoubtedly a cult classic.

Masayuki Taguchi is a master at conveying the tension of the story’s most intense scenes. That said, I must admit that even as someone who loves that style, there were moments where it felt a bit excessive — some scenes stretch over many pages before reaching a conclusion. Still, this doesn’t take away from the impact of the overall work. It’s just something that might have been better balanced, although given that this was originally a weekly release, it would have been difficult to maintain a full sense of the story’s structure until it was completed.

A must-read for any Seinen fan.
