🇵🇹 Comprei este livro recentemente num leilão de usados por apenas 6€ e acabou por ser o melhor investimento que fiz este ano. Uma obra cuja existência desconhecia por completo revelou-se uma pérola rara.

Neste formato manga, assinado por dois autores brasileiros, o livro apresenta quatro histórias totalmente silenciosas: um pai alcoólico e o seu filho ainda criança, um homem confrontado com o desemprego, uma professora que descobre um livro de memórias e um tratador de cavalos.

A qualidade das histórias vai ligeiramente decrescendo — sendo a primeira a mais forte e a última a menos impactante —, mas o conjunto resulta numa obra notável. A primeira história, em particular, teve um forte impacto emocional em mim, embora todas consigam, de formas diferentes, tocar o leitor — algo que naturalmente variará de pessoa para pessoa.

Recomendo vivamente.

🇬🇧 I recently bought this book at a second-hand auction for only 6€, and it turned out to be the best investment I’ve made this year. A work I was completely unaware of revealed itself to be a rare gem.

Presented in manga format and created by two Brazilian authors, the book features four entirely silent stories: an alcoholic father and his young son, a man facing unemployment, a teacher who discovers a book of memories, and a horse caretaker.

The quality of the stories slightly declines — with the first being the strongest and the last the least impactful — but taken as a whole, it results in a remarkable work. The first story, in particular, had a strong emotional impact on me, although all of them manage, in different ways, to move the reader — something that will naturally vary from person to person.

Highly recommended.
