📚 Book Review: O Sétimo Homem e Outros Contos
📖 Author(s): Jean-Christophe Deveney, Haruki Murakami, PMGL
💭 My Thoughts:
Quanto à adaptação, parece-me irrepreensível.

🇬🇧 Well, what an intense read.
Let me start by saying this won’t be for everyone. The short stories of Haruki Murakami are quite peculiar and certainly not universally appealing. He has a distinctive way of telling stories—immersive, almost hypnotic—that pulls you in, only to end them abruptly, without a traditional resolution. It’s as if he simply decided to move on to the next idea. Because of that, the focus here is very much on the journey rather than the destination.
Murakami seems drawn to exploring the less obvious side of life—intimate situations, often surreal, that bend or even break the rules of reality. There’s a constant sense of controlled strangeness, as though you’re moving through fragments of dreams disguised as everyday life.
As for the adaptation, it feels impeccable. PMGL’s artwork, both in line and colour, sets the perfect tone for these stories, while Deveney’s writing flows naturally.
If you’re already a Murakami fan, you’ll likely enjoy this work. If not, be prepared for a reading experience that steps outside the usual conventions.
