💭 My Thoughts:

🇵🇹 Esta é daquelas histórias que toda a gente conhece, mesmo sem nunca a ter lido, de tanto que se fala dela. Ainda assim, quis conhecê-la em primeira mão e perceber até que ponto se aproxima dos relatos originais.

Grande parte desta adaptação assenta na narração, o que acaba por não ser ideal, já que não tira pleno partido das potencialidades da banda desenhada. A narração não é má, mas torna-se algo repetitiva e, a certo ponto, até cansativa. Fariam falta mais diálogos e uma maior confiança nas ilustrações para conduzirem a narrativa.

No geral, trata-se de uma adaptação competente e uma boa porta de entrada para a obra de H.G. Wells, embora haja claramente margem para uma abordagem mais conseguida numa futura adaptação.

🇬🇧 This is one of those stories that everyone seems to know, even without ever having read it, simply because it’s so often talked about. Still, I wanted to experience it firsthand and see how closely it aligns with the original accounts.

A large portion of this adaptation relies on narration, which isn’t ideal, as it doesn’t fully take advantage of the strengths of the comic medium. The narration itself isn’t bad, but it becomes somewhat repetitive and, at times, a bit tiresome. More dialogue and greater trust in the artwork to carry the story would have improved the experience.

Overall, it’s a solid adaptation and a good entry point to H.G. Wells’ work, though there is clearly room for a more refined approach in a future adaptation.
