💭 My Thoughts:

🇵🇹 Flash Gordon é um herói da minha infância. Não sei muito sobre a sua mitologia original, mas nunca me esqueci do filme dos anos 80 — uma obra que, para a época, já apresentava uma componente de ficção científica bastante ambiciosa, quase ao nível de Guerra das Estrelas, ainda que nunca tenha alcançado o mesmo impacto cultural.

Por isso, assim que soube que estavam a desenvolver uma espécie de continuação desse filme, tornou-se leitura obrigatória para mim.

Confesso que parti com expectativas moderadas e até algum cepticismo, antecipando uma possível desilusão. No entanto, no final, a experiência revelou-se surpreendentemente positiva. Não estamos perante uma obra-prima incontornável, mas é um projecto que cumpre plenamente aquilo que os fãs procuram: respeito pelo material original, espírito de aventura e aquela energia pulp que define a personagem.

Parece-me exactamente o tipo de abordagem que os fãs queriam ver — e que certamente desejarão continuar a acompanhar. Mérito da equipa criativa por detrás deste título.

🇬🇧 Flash Gordon is a hero from my childhood. I don’t know much about his original mythology, but I have never forgotten the 1980s film — a production that, for its time, already showcased a remarkably ambitious level of science fiction, almost on par with Star Wars, even if it never achieved the same cultural impact.

So, as soon as I learned that they were developing a kind of continuation of that film, it immediately became mandatory reading for me.

I approached it with measured expectations and a fair amount of scepticism, anticipating possible disappointment. However, by the end, the experience proved surprisingly positive. It’s not a groundbreaking masterpiece, but it fully delivers what fans are looking for: respect for the source material, a strong sense of adventure, and that distinctive pulp energy that defines the character.

It feels like exactly the kind of approach fans wanted — and would gladly see continue. Credit to the creative team behind this title.

I’m on board for what comes next.
