💭 My Thoughts:

🇵🇹 Júlio César acaba de conquistar toda a Hispânia, com excepção de uma pequena aldeia que se recusa a render-se (soa familiar?). Para a manter sob controlo, decide raptar uma criança dessa aldeia, usando-a como garantia dos seus interesses.

O problema é que o rapaz é um verdadeiro pesadelo — e o destino acaba por cruzá-lo com os nossos amigos gauleses, para grande infelicidade dos romanos.

Não é dos melhores álbuns de Astérix. Não o achei particularmente memorável, apesar de incluir alguns momentos bem conseguidos, com várias caricaturas dos espanhóis.

Ainda assim, é um álbum de Astérix: leitura leve e fluída, bem-disposta, com a arte sólida e apelativa a que a série já nos habituou.

🇬🇧 Julius Caesar has just conquered all of Hispania, with the exception of a small village that refuses to surrender (sound familiar?). To keep it under control, he decides to kidnap a child from that village, using him as leverage to secure his interests.

The problem is that the boy is a real nightmare — and fate eventually brings him into the path of our Gaulish friends, much to the Romans’ misfortune.

It’s not one of the best Asterix albums. I didn’t find it particularly memorable, although it does include some well-executed moments, with several caricatures of the Spaniards.

Still, it’s an Asterix album: a light, fluid read, good-humoured, with the solid and appealing artwork the series has long accustomed us to.
