💭 My Thoughts:

🇵🇹 Este volume é um pouco diferente dos anteriores. Aqui, o contexto de guerra é tratado de forma muito mais subtil, com menos momentos de combate explícito do que nos volumes anteriores.

Em vez disso, o foco recai sobre as dificuldades de uma economia frágil em tempos particularmente duros — agravados também por eventos naturais — que acabam por empurrar muitos jovens americanos para a guerra como única forma de poderem sonhar com um futuro melhor, num paradoxo bastante evidente.

Ao contrário dos volumes anteriores, aqui não consegui criar um apego tão forte às personagens.

🇬🇧 This volume is somewhat different from the previous ones. Here, the context of war is handled in a much more subtle way, with fewer moments of explicit combat than in earlier volumes.

Instead, the focus shifts to the hardships of a fragile economy in particularly difficult times — further exacerbated by natural events — which end up pushing many young Americans into war as the only way they can dream of a better future, a rather striking paradox.

Unlike the previous volumes, I did not manage to form as strong an attachment to the characters here.
