🇵🇹 Eva Rojas não é uma psiquiatra comum. Para além de conviver com vozes — ou melhor, presenças — na sua cabeça, alegadamente antepassados femininos, também não perde a oportunidade de se aventurar como detective amadora sempre que o destino lhe dá um empurrão.

Por isso, não se deixem enganar pela capa aparentemente fofinha: no fundo, isto é um policial, cuja detective é, digamos, um bocadinho passada dos carretos.

A premissa é simples: o corpo de um Nazi é encontrado afogado em cimento, e Eva acompanha a investigação, narrando ao longo do álbum todos os acontecimentos que levaram àquele desfecho.

Confesso que senti alguma frustração — é como quando alguém diz que tem uma história incrível para contar, mas passa meia hora a desfiar cada pormenor relevante ou não antes de chegar ao cerne da questão.

Posto isto, é um policial divertido, com várias camadas e contornos. Eva Rojas é uma personagem hilariante, apesar de completamente chanfrada, e claro, tudo é elevado pela arte bem-humorada e luminosa de Jordi Lafebre.

🇬🇧 Eva Rojas is not your typical psychiatrist. Besides living with voices — or rather, presences — in her head, allegedly her female ancestors, she also never misses a chance to dabble as an amateur detective whenever fate gives her a little push.

So don’t be fooled by the seemingly cute cover: at its core, this is a crime story, and its detective is, shall we say, a bit unhinged.

The premise is simple: the body of a Nazi is found drowned in cement, and Eva assists the investigation, narrating throughout the album all the events that led to that outcome.

I must admit I felt some frustration — it’s like when someone tells you they have an amazing story to share, but then spends half an hour going through every single detail, relevant or not, before finally getting to the heart of the matter.

That said, it’s an entertaining crime story, full of layers and twists. Eva Rojas is a hilarious character, despite being completely nuts, and of course, everything is elevated by Jordi Lafebre’s cheerful and luminous artwork.
