💭 My Thoughts:

🇵🇹 Este livro prometia muito à partida: uma história de terror passada no universo do Aquaman, reunindo todos os elementos que me atraem. Infelizmente, acabou por não corresponder às expectativas.

A arte mantém um nível bastante bom ao longo de toda a narrativa, conferindo-lhe um tom mais sombrio e atmosférico. No entanto, a escrita e a construção da história não acompanharam essa qualidade visual.

Apesar de se tratar de uma aventura do Aquaman, a sua presença é pouco marcante — tanto que, estivesse ou não na trama, a diferença seria mínima.

No conjunto, fica a sensação de uma oportunidade desperdiçada. Por vezes, tenta-se ser tão “fora da caixa” que se perde a caixa… e também o leitor.

🇬🇧 This book looked very promising from the start: a horror story set in the Aquaman universe, bringing together all the elements that appeal to me. Unfortunately, it ended up falling short of expectations.

The artwork maintains a consistently high standard throughout, giving the narrative a darker, more atmospheric tone. However, the writing and story construction failed to match that visual quality.

Despite being an Aquaman adventure, his presence is hardly felt — so much so that, whether he was in the plot or not, it would make little difference.

Overall, it feels like a missed opportunity. Sometimes, in trying so hard to be “outside the box,” you end up losing the box… and the reader as well.
