💭 My Thoughts:

🇵🇹 Mais uma excelente surpresa vinda da Arte de Autor. Que ninguém pense que esta é uma história menor — muito pelo contrário.

É verdade que o meu entusiasmo pode ser influenciado pelo facto de adorar histórias baseadas em factos reais, ainda para mais passadas na China, com presença de personagens e elementos da história portuguesa. Mas isso também conta na experiência de leitura!

Aqui acompanhamos a trajetória de uma lendária pirata chinesa, numa época em que portugueses e britânicos dominavam os mares do sul da China — e têm, naturalmente, um papel central na narrativa.

Fiquei encantado com as ilustrações das naus portuguesas — absolutamente deslumbrantes!

Confesso que até me surpreende saber que esta história se conclui em apenas dois volumes, pois vejo aqui potencial para muito mais.

🇬🇧 Another excellent surprise from Arte de Autor. Don’t be fooled into thinking this is a minor story — quite the opposite.

I’ll admit, my appreciation is probably influenced by my love for stories based on real historical events, especially ones set in China that feature Portuguese characters and historical context. But that only adds to the experience!

Here, we follow the journey of a legendary Chinese pirate during a time when the Portuguese and British ruled the seas of southern China — and they play a central role in the narrative.

I was absolutely delighted by the illustrations of the Portuguese carracks — truly stunning!

Honestly, I’m surprised this story wraps up in just two volumes, as I see potential for so much more.

I loved it!
