💭 My Thoughts:

🇬🇧 Many thanks to Miguel Gonçalves for the opportunity to read this horror anthology. I wish I could give a more positive opinion, but at the end of the day, I have to stay true to my own conscience.

Anthologies are, by nature, limiting. It’s extremely difficult to build a truly impactful story in just a handful of pages — which is the format of each of the three short stories included here.

The final story is, without a doubt, the standout. The writing, combined with the visual sequence, manages to convey a sense of despair and unease that, for me, was lacking in the others.

As for the illustrations, they are overall flawless. Connelly’s line work fits this kind of dark and unsettling narrative perfectly.

As antologias são, por natureza, limitativas. É extremamente difícil construir uma narrativa verdadeiramente marcante em apenas meia dúzia de páginas — o formato de cada uma das três histórias curtas aqui presentes.

A última história é, sem dúvida, a que mais se destaca. O argumento, aliado à sequência gráfica, consegue transmitir uma sensação de desespero e inquietação que, para mim, faltou nas restantes.

No que toca às ilustrações, são no geral irrepreensíveis. O traço de Connelly encaixa perfeitamente neste tipo de narrativa sombria e angustiante.
