🇵🇹 Depois de ter adorado “O Monstro Debaixo da Minha Cama” e “Como Pedra”, assim que soube que o autor tinha lançado um novo livro, nem hesitei — sabia imediatamente que o queria ler.

Nesta obra, acompanhamos Kesler após um acontecimento recente que o leva a revisitar o seu passado, numa tentativa de compreender e encerrar capítulos que ficaram por resolver.

À medida que leio, dou por mim a refletir sobre como todos carregamos momentos que revisitamos vezes sem conta, em busca de respostas para perguntas que insistem em escapar-nos. É a nossa maneira de tentar aprender com o que aconteceu, de evitar que se repita — mas, por vezes, não há respostas. E temos de aprender a viver com isso.

Luckas é um contador de histórias notável, com uma sensibilidade emocional rara. Não tem medo de arriscar na forma como estrutura os seus relatos, e neste livro isso é particularmente evidente. É exímio a transmitir emoções de forma autêntica e tocante.

Recomendo vivamente. Um dos maiores talentos brasileiros da actualidade.

🇬🇧 After falling in love with “The Monster Under My Bed” and “Like Stone”, the moment I found out the author had released a new book, I didn’t need to know anything else — I just knew I had to read it.

In this story, we follow Kesler after a recent event prompts him to revisit his past, in an attempt to understand and bring closure to unresolved chapters in his life.

As I read, I find myself reflecting on how we all carry moments that we replay over and over in our minds, searching for answers to questions that continue to elude us. It’s our way of trying to learn, to prevent those things from happening again — but sometimes, there are no answers. And we have to learn to live with that.

Luckas is a remarkable storyteller, with a rare emotional depth. He’s not afraid to take risks with narrative structure, and this book is a clear example of that. He masterfully conveys emotion in a way that feels raw and genuine.

Highly recommended. One of the most talented Brazilian authors today.
