💭 My Thoughts:

🇵🇹 Depois de uma leitura bem-sucedida de Void Rivals e da nova iteração de Transformers, tinha mesmo de continuar esta jornada pelo novo universo Energon, lendo a última franquia que o integra.

Confesso que aqui as minhas expectativas não eram tão altas — tinha alguma dificuldade em visualizar como poderiam criar boas histórias com esta propriedade intelectual.

Mas não é que conseguiram?

Este é o primeiro spin-off da nova versão de G.I. Joe, e adorei o facto de nunca, ao longo de toda a história, ser mencionado o nome “G.I. Joe”. Mesmo as personagens mais conhecidas da franquia são introduzidas de forma subtil. É claro que o autor não está apenas a tentar capitalizar sobre o nome da série — em vez disso, constrói uma narrativa verdadeiramente sólida e envolvente que, por acaso, inclui estas personagens. E foi ótimo revê-las no papel.

O futuro desta franquia — e de todo o universo Energon — parece muito promissor.

🇬🇧 After a successful read of Void Rivals and the new Transformers series, I had to continue this journey through the new Energon Universe by diving into the latest franchise to join it.

I must admit, my expectations weren’t very high for this one — I had trouble imagining how compelling stories could be built around this intellectual property.

But guess what? They pulled it off.

This is the first spin-off of the new G.I. Joe iteration, and I loved the fact that the name “G.I. Joe” is never mentioned throughout the entire story. Even the most iconic characters from the franchise are introduced in a very subtle way. It’s clear the writer isn’t just trying to cash in on the brand — instead, he crafts a genuinely strong and engaging narrative that just happens to feature these characters. And it was great to see them on the page again.

The future of this franchise — and the whole Energon Universe — looks very bright.
