He himself acknowledges that he is becoming more like his father—and, to some extent, that’s true—although he still retains a moral compass that clearly sets him apart. Throughout this volume, Mark forms new alliances and further widens the rift with his former ally, Cecil. His relationship with Eve continues, while he also keeps training his half-brother.
