📚 Book Review: Attack on Titan, Vol. 34
📖 Author(s): Hajime Isayama
💭 My Thoughts:

🇬🇧 More than four years after reading the first volume of this series, I ended up dragging out the final volume for almost four months before finally deciding to finish it.
My God! What a long journey! Manga series are truly a major time investment, and I can completely understand why so many people end up drifting away from them. At the same time, I have to say that I never felt any particular need to rush through this series just to get to the end. Quite the opposite: each volume offers its own experience and deserves to be enjoyed on its own. Of course, if you want to know the whole story, you have to read everything.
Part of the reason I kept putting off this final volume was that I felt the ending was already more or less set in stone, and that this last volume wouldn’t have all that much to add. I was pleasantly surprised in that regard. There are several interesting revelations, some of which are also rather confusing. In fact, overall, I feel that the conclusion is somewhat messy. Not to the point where you can’t understand what’s going on — because, for the most part, you can — but there are some details and decisions that felt a little forced.
Either way, Attack on Titan is a manga classic, and to a certain extent, it’s easy to understand why.
