🇵🇹 Quando vi este livro pela primeira vez, fiquei imediatamente cativado pelo título e por toda a atmosfera da obra. Parecia exatamente o tipo de leitura que procuro. No entanto, ao ver as classificações, perdi algum do entusiasmo inicial — talvez não fosse tudo aquilo que eu imaginava.

Camélia encontra um livro num banco de jardim e, a partir daí, desenrola-se um enredo marcado por uma crescente obsessão em descobrir quem está por detrás das mensagens escondidas nas suas páginas. A sua vida pessoal não atravessa a melhor fase, e esta pequena aventura acaba por despertar nela algo adormecido, levando-a a uma introspeção profunda. Aos poucos, percebe que a sua “chama” já estava apagada há algum tempo — e que foi este mistério que a reacendeu.

Depois de ler a obra, posso dizer que correspondeu totalmente às minhas expectativas — talvez até as tenha superado. Não consegui descansar enquanto não cheguei à última página, e quando um livro provoca esse efeito, é sempre um excelente sinal. Já nem me lembro da última vez que senti algo assim. Fico, por isso, a questionar os ratings mais baixos: será pelo desfecho? Ou porque esperavam algo diferente? Não sei.

Quanto a mim, adorei e recomendo vivamente.

🇬🇧 When I first saw this book, I was immediately captivated by the title and the entire atmosphere of the work. It seemed exactly like the kind of reading I look for. However, after seeing the ratings, I lost some of that initial enthusiasm — perhaps it wasn’t quite what I had imagined.

Camélia finds a book on a park bench and, from there, a plot unfolds marked by a growing obsession with discovering who is behind the hidden messages within its pages. Her personal life is not going through its best phase, and this small adventure ends up awakening something dormant within her, leading her into deep introspection. Little by little, she realizes that her “spark” had already been fading for some time — and that it was this mystery that reignited it.

After reading the work, I can say it fully met my expectations — perhaps even exceeded them. I couldn’t rest until I reached the final page, and when a book provokes that effect, it is always an excellent sign. I can hardly remember the last time I felt something like this. I therefore find myself questioning the lower ratings: was it because of the ending? Or because they expected something different? I don’t know.

As for me, I loved it and strongly recommend it.
