🇵🇹 Esta é a minha mais recente e deliciosa descoberta. Comprei este livro sem saber absolutamente nada sobre ele, apenas porque era um título da Polvo que ainda me faltava na coleção e porque fiquei imediatamente cativado pela capa.

Ao folhear o livro, apercebi-me de que se trata de uma história completamente muda — e sabemos bem que este tipo de narrativa não é fácil de construir. Ainda assim, o autor consegue fazê-lo aqui de forma irrepreensível. Diria mesmo que esta obra deveria ser uma referência obrigatória para qualquer autor que pretenda criar uma história muda em banda desenhada.

Quanto à história em si, é absolutamente espectacular e bastante dura — muito dura, aliás. Logo nas primeiras páginas somos confrontados com a crueza da obra, nomeadamente pela forma como alguns cachorrinhos são tratados. Fica desde já o aviso: há momentos pesados, mas trata-se de uma narrativa que transmite de forma muito eficaz a dureza da vida no contexto em que esta história se insere.

Recomendo vivamente.

🇬🇧 This is my most recent and delightful discovery. I bought this book without knowing anything about it, simply because it was a Polvo title that was still missing from my collection and because I immediately fell in love with the cover.

While flipping through the book, I realised that it is a completely silent story — and we all know that this kind of narrative is not easy to pull off. Nevertheless, the author succeeds here in an impeccable manner. I would even say that this work should be considered essential reference material for any creator who wishes to write a silent comic.

As for the story itself, it is absolutely spectacular and quite harsh — very harsh, in fact. Right from the opening pages, we are confronted with the story’s brutality, particularly through the way some puppies are treated. So consider this a warning: there are heavy moments, but it is a story that conveys extremely well the harshness of life within the context in which it is set.

Highly recommended.
