💭 My Thoughts:

🇵🇹 Os Romanos voltam agora a concentrar os seus esforços na conquista da Bretanha, mas, como seria de esperar, os nossos irredutíveis amigos gauleses não os vão deixar agir em paz.

Desta vez, Astérix e Obélix viajam até à Bretanha para prestar auxílio a um familiar, juntando-se à resistência local contra a ocupação romana.

Estamos perante mais uma aventura bastante original — talvez até uma das mais sofisticadas que já li da série Astérix. Curiosamente, e em contrapartida, achei-a também uma das menos divertidas, muito por culpa da menor presença daquelas piadas imediatas que normalmente nos fazem rir em voz alta.

Ainda assim, é uma leitura bem-disposta e agradável, que se deixa ler com prazer e que, no final, soube bastante bem acompanhar.

🇬🇧 The Romans now turn their attention to the conquest of Britain, but, as expected, our indomitable Gaulish friends are not going to let them act in peace.

This time, Asterix and Obelix travel to Britain to help a relative, joining the local resistance against the Roman occupation.

This is another highly original adventure—perhaps even one of the most sophisticated I have read in the Asterix series. Curiously, however, and by contrast, I also found it to be one of the least amusing, largely due to the reduced presence of those immediate jokes that usually make us laugh out loud.

Even so, it is a good-natured and pleasant read, one that flows easily and ultimately proves very enjoyable to follow.
